Parker Hennecy is highly experienced in the practice of real estate law and real estate transactions. From assisting clients in the acquisition and development of multi-million-dollar projects, to negotiation of a residential real estate contract, Parker Hennecy has been involved in every aspect of real estate law.

We can assist with all phases of a real estate transaction including contract negotiation, due diligence, loan documentation negotiation/preparation, and the closing and disbursement process. Additionally, Parker Hennecy has experience assisting clients with 1031 tax deferred exchanges, real property subdivision, rezoning, development, condemnation, tax appeals, boundary line disputes, quiet title actions, and tax sale redemptions.

Parker Hennecy represents a wide range of commercial real estate clients, including banks, credit unions, commercial and residential developers, investors, public and private businesses, and commercial landlords and tenants, hoteliers, and owners of multi-family housing developments.

Parker Hennecy has had the privilege of representing the Jefferson County, Alabama Office of Community & Economic Development for several years. Our legal team has in depth experience with governmental programs, including HOME and CDBG. Parker Hennecy has assisted the Office of Community & Economic Development in partnering with local non-profit organizations to assist potential low-income purchasers with their dream of owning their own home. Our firm has also helped the Office of Community & Economic Development in its collaboration with business owners creating new economic opportunities in Jefferson County.

Corporate Law

Parker Hennecy often directs clients through the maze of choices associated with creating a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company. There are several options when it comes to business formation and Parker Hennecy will help you form the business that makes sense for you. We guide our clients through every step from building an organizational foundation to establishing an appropriate business succession plan.

Parker Hennecy is skilled in both simple and complex corporate matters including business entity formation and operation, shareholder and member agreements, stock redemption agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and business liquidation and dissolution. Our long-term relationships with our clients help establish stability and success in their business practices.

Transactional Law

Parker Hennecy has experience representing all sides of a broad array of transactions such as commercial contracts, sales and distribution agreements, confidentiality agreements, franchise agreements, lease agreements, licenses, employment agreements, non-competition agreements, service agreements, joint venture agreements, loan modification agreements, and lender workouts. Our team drafts, reviews, and negotiates any such contract depending on the needs of a particular client.

Elder Law

Parker Hennecy also assists clients with Advance Medical Directives. Often referred to as “Living Wills,” Alabama’s Advance Medical Directives offer individuals the opportunity to state their wishes for end-of-life situations including the desire for food and hydration through an IV and the use of ventilators. We will walk you or your loved one through this process and assist with ensuring understanding and making sure your wishes are accurately memorialized.

Parker Hennecy guides clients in long term care planning. We offer individualized plans for seniors and their families facing the high cost of long-term care. Failure to plan ahead for these needs can easily deplete the family at a time when emotional resources are already strained. We explore all options available and appropriate to the specific needs of the client including, but not limited to, long-term care insurance, selection of facilities, qualification for public benefits such as Social Security and Medicaid and asset protection trusts.

Parker Hennecy specializes in investigating, reporting and representing the victims of elder exploitation and abuse whether it is financial, physical or other abuse and neglect. Elder abuse is on the rise and affects many families today. We work closely with the reporting agencies and the Probate Courts to protect the victim and strive to make them whole.

Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts

Parker Hennecy assists clients with preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorneys, and other estate planning related needs. In addition to a Last Will and Testament, the use of revocable and irrevocable trusts, special needs trusts, insurance trusts and other forms of management trusts are just a few of the ways we can tailor our clients’ specific estate plan. Powers of Attorneys give one the opportunity to grant an agent the authority to conduct one’s financial affairs or make medical decisions temporarily or permanently. Parker Hennecy takes the time to counsel the client on the specific Power of Attorney to best meet the clients’ needs.

Our attorneys work with our clients in preparing estate plans which meet their familial and charitable objectives. Many of our clients have specific and unique ideas and goals regarding the disposition of their estates. Therefore, we create individualized estate plans rather than relying on forms which may not adequately address their comprehensive goals.

Probate

Parker Hennecy assists clients with all aspects of simple and complex estate administration. We know that this season of life can be complicated by grief and hardships, and we are here to make this process as easy as possible. We have over 40 years of experience to guide you through this process so that you can focus on your family during this time.  We work with clients to guide them through each step of the process from filing the initial petition to distribution and settlement of the estate.

Our firm specializes in both establishing and long-term maintenance of guardianships and conservatorships. We have many long-term conservatorships in which we oversee and manage an incapacitated person’s daily life while coordinating the most beneficial investments and managing finances. Parker Hennecy has expertise in managing the guardianship and conservatorship process from filing the initial petition through representing the ward in court when necessary and triennial and final settlements of estates.
